What members experience
On iPhone, members add passes to Apple Wallet (developers often call this a PassKit-style pass). On Android, they add the same kind of card to Google Wallet.
In both cases the pass can sit on the lock screen, show a barcode or QR where you need it, and receive updates when you change details — subject to what each platform allows for your pass type.
Why organisations care about both
Most clubs, cafés, and event venues have a mix of iPhone and Android users. Issuing only one platform would exclude part of your audience.
MemberPass is built so you run one web-based workflow and members pick the wallet that matches their phone. That reduces support noise compared to bespoke consumer apps that everyone must download.
Wallet passes vs a custom mobile app
Wallet passes live inside the wallet apps people already use. A custom app is a separate download, store listing, and update cycle.
For many SMBs and member organisations, digital membership cards, loyalty stamps or points, and offers are enough on the pass face — without funding a full mobile product.
